NewAuPair.com is an internationally based website dedicated to matching interested families with caring and enthusiastic nannies and au pairs.  The site operates exclusively as a matching service, and is not an agency.

What We Like About the Service

NewAuPair.com functions well as a matching service for those seeking out nanny and au pair care for their children.  During some rudimentary test searches, it appears geared primarily toward those seeking au pairs.  The profiles are, on the whole, very well written and it’s clear many candidates are educated and experienced child caregivers.

NewAuPair.com provides some great tips for maximizing visibility of a parent profile, including encouraging all users to upload a photo.

NewAuPair.com is fairly easy to use, and produces many results within given search parameters.  The site also has many links with basic information for those new to the au pair/nanny experience.

The site is ideal for those who find the perfect profile to meet their needs, and is willing to do the preparation necessary to legally host them in country. 

What We Don’t Like About the Service

Signing up to view nannies and au pairs requires creating a family profile.  In other words, one cannot preview the candidates prior to providing information to NewAuPair.com.  Additionally, it was a bit difficult to track down the membership price should one choose to contact a nanny or au pair directly. 

To access premium membership rates, one must have completed at least a rudimentary profile and be signed in.  Once that is complete, there isn’t a consistent link on every page to find premium membership.  More than once we got “lost” trying to find the premium membership page again!

Candidates post their profiles themselves, and there is no candidate screening due to volume of posts.  If one chooses an international au pair, they must take that information to an agency (the site has agency partners) to get all requisite paperwork in order.  This means a lot of legwork and possibly higher overall costs than with a site like AuPairCare.com.

The site does not appear to have any background check options at this time.  This may be due to it being based internationally.

Our Rating

We give NewAuPair.com our #10 Rating.  The site is acceptable from a usability standpoint, and has a wide variety of well-written profiles with photos.  If one takes the time to complete signup on NewAuPair.com, he or she may find a person who is the “perfect match.”  This is not a full-service au pair service, so this site is suited to those who don’t mind the extra steps associated with hosting an international au pair.
