4sitters.com is a website created for those busy parents who are in need of quality childcare.  Independent and family-owned by Wayne and Sarah Schlicht, 4sitters.com strives to provide the most detailed babysitter profiles available, ensuring that parents get an accurate and complete picture of the babysitter candidate before moving to the interview phase. 

What We Like About the Service

4sitters.com is a modest site geared toward families seeking quality profiles and a low subscription price.  The site is uncluttered and the search function is easily accessible.  4sitters.com requires a sign-up before viewing profiles, and requires a membership in order to contact prospective babysitters.

4sitters.com feels more like a niche site, rather than a large clearinghouse of babysitters.  A profile search of a zip code in a metropolitan area produced about 10 results – pretty low rate for this type of site, but each profile returned was well written and professional, with most including a clear photo of the candidate.  They even include a section on the style of discipline the sitter uses, something not seen often on other sites of this type.

For the price of $6.99 per month, there is no arguing that 4sitters.com has a competitive rate.  Other sites charge more for their monthly subscriptions, and offer more sitters from which to choose.  4sitters.com may have an appeal to the budget-minded parent who is willing to trade low price for more plentiful sitter options. 

What We Don’t Like About the Service

4sitters.com is pretty bare bones as far as these types of sites go.  Many sites of this ilk would provide a background check option.  If one chooses to use 4sitters.com, they’ll have to get a background check from another site, using information provided by the sitter.  This may or may not be a deal breaker for some users, but it is worth considering when choosing a source for childcare. 

Additionally, the site could benefit from recruiting more candidates for families using their service.  We were able to locate about 10 local sitters in a large metropolitan area, but we attempted a search from a local suburban pocket that only yielded one candidate.

Our Rating

We give 4sitters.com our #13 rating.  The site is easy to use, and appears to have some quality babysitters available.  The profiles as written are clear, precise, and most have photos as well.  The site is lean on sitter options, and appears to cater mostly to parents in larger metropolitan areas.
